IPS Travel & Lodging Info
FLYING INTO OMAHA:
Most connections into Omaha will go through either Chicago (ORD), Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP), St. Louis (STL), Memphis (MEM), or Denver (DEN).
The following airlines all provide service into Omaha's Eppley Airfield:
DELTA, CONTINENTAL, AMERICAN, UNITED, SOUTHWEST, and US AIRWAYS
As an alternative, IPS participants might also check into flights to Lincoln, NE (LNK) to see if significant savings can be made. Although about 45 min away, there is a shuttle service available to get passengers to/from Lincoln's airport to Omaha.
DRIVING TO OMAHA:
From Des Moines, IA - Omaha is located approximately 135 miles southwest of Des Moines following I-80 west.
From Kansas City, MO - Omaha is located approximately 188 miles northwest of Kansas City following I-29 north to I-80 west.
From Minneapolis, MN - Omaha is located approximate 381 miles southwest of Minneapolis following I-35 south to I-80 west.
From Chicago, IL - Omaha is located approximately 476 miles due west of Chicago following I-88 west to I-80 west.
IPS Housing
IPS offers apartment-style dormitory housing is on the campus of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. The IPS rate is $35.00 / night (includes linens) and must be paid separately from the IPS tuition. Payment can be made upon the day of arrival by check, money order, or credit card. Roommate requests will be accommodated whenever possible. The deadline to request dorm housing is June 15, 2013.
IPS Meals
With the exception of the final IPS picnic on Sunday, July 14 (dinner), meals are not included. Meals in the UNO cafeteria range from $6-$9 and are available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Special dietary needs can be accomodated with advnace notice. (Please email specific dietary needs/allergies to info@piccoosymposium.com). The UNO dorms are equipped with kitchens should participants wish to prepare their own meals, or there are a variety of eating establishments both on and close to campus from which IPS residents may choose.
Additional Info
Practice rooms will be available for use on a first come, first served basis during the Symposium.
IPS participants may set up private lessons with IPS Aritst-Teachers for an additional fee. Send requests to info@piccolosymposium.org. Time is limited and requests will be honored in the order they are received.
